DocumAction! – Raising awareness through image

CAAB is a partner of the DocumAction!, a project supported and financed by the Erasmus + Program. Its main activity is an 8-day mobility activity in October, in Greece (Kalamata). The project involves 35 young people and 7 group leaders from several European countries: Croatia, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Romania.

5 young people and 1 group leader (18-30) from CAAB will participate in DocumAction! which aims to empower young people in using Documentary to raise awareness to important social and political values and issues.

The project is based on the certainty that this cinematographic genre is an important instrument for the artistic representation of reality and, therefore, can be used to inform and raise awareness about important social issues.

Besides the development of intercultural competence – common in a healthy environment of European coexistence – young people will develop digital skills, competences related to a more active participation in the community and the awareness of their decisive role in social mobilization in order to solve socio-political challenges.

Project activities will be based on non-formal education and peer learning. Young people will interview locals, participate in simulations, video and editing tutorials, outdoor activities, debates, among others.

The advance planning visit happens in September and it will bring together 1 representative from each organization. They will discuss in detail the project, so that DocumAction!, on one hand, reflects our commitment to the safety of the participants in the current pandemic scenario; on the other hand, so that the desired impact on our young people and communities is achieved, through a coherent and enriching activity plan that reflects the profile of our young people.
