«Love is repaid with love», a project supported by the IPDJ’s Namorar com Fair Play program, intended to promote a serious reflection on the toxicity of interpersonal relationships, through creativity and youth action.

In September and early October, our 2 young volunteers – Gustavo and Vitória – dedicated themselves to the topic and promoted 2 group dynamics with children and young people about gender stereotypes and romantic relationships. They then launched an online campaign around the international day of non-violence, creating posters alluding to behaviors that are often considered normal, but which already indicate control and disrespect for the freedom of others.

The volunteers reported that the research they did on statistical data on dating violence was very shocking and opened their eyes to the Portuguese reality. At the same time, the reflections they had with children and young people made them understand that there is still a lot of “talk” to be had on the topic to warn about the dangers of toxicity.
