“Bikers for Sustainability” , supported by the IPDJ, engaged five young people from the community to think, act, and share knowledge with Aguada de Baixo. In fact, we present its results, which aimed to actively promote environmental sustainability and civic responsibility regarding our forests and waste management.
For 15 days (end of July and beginning of August), as part of the «Voluntariado Jovem para a Natureza e Florestas» program, 5 volunteers aged between 14 and 22 years old developed various activities in Aguada de Baixo. As can be seen, they aimed to promote environmental sustainability by:

a) creating a flyer with concrete information about forest preservation;
b) distributing 300 flyers throughout the parish door-to-door;
c) sharing information about what we can all do to keep our forests safe in an informal meeting with the community;
d) Scanning the parish’s hiking and forest trails, cataloging situations of risk or neglect that could pose a risk to residents.
Afterwards, the results were shared with the Aguada de Baixo Parish Council, both in person and through a summary document detailing the location and photographic records of all critical situations identified. Here, we share some photographs from «Bikers for Sustainability» —which were shared on CAAB’s social media channels -, the created flyer and the report (both in Portuguese) that was handed out to Aguada de Baixo Parish Council.
